„Eine Band, die sich durch jahrelange Zusammenarbeit blind versteht„. So berichtete kürzlich WDR3 Jazz über das Zusammenspiel des Kölner Quartetts JT4. Mit ihm spielt Janning Trumann einen ebenso poetisch packenden wie kraftvoll fließenden Jazz. Anregend komplex und zugleich mit magnetischen Melodien ausgestattet, expressiv und dabei doch immer klare, musikalische Aussagen treffend. Besondere Rollen im Zusammenklang und der Klangentwicklung spielen zusätzlich die analogen Effekte und der Synthesizer. So entfaltet Janning Trumann gemeinsam mit Lucas Leidinger, Florian Herzog und Thomas Sauerborn eine enorme, tiefenwirksame Energie.
Kürzlich ist das neue Album Roots & Riots auf Tangible Music erschienen.

Für das Konzert im LOFT erweitern sie das Quartett um eine starke Stimme aus den USA. Der Gitarrist Brandon Seabrook ist seit Jahren eine feste und etablierte Institution der New Yorker Szene für Jazz und Improvisierte Musik und tourt international u.a. mit Gerald Cleaver, Tony Malaby oder Eivind Opsvik. Er verleiht dem ohnehin schon elektrisch verstärktem Quartett eine weitere Stimme und öffnet eine weitere rhythmische Ebene. Wir können gespannt sein auf einen Abend voller Energie und Überraschungen!

Stimulatingly complex and at the same time endowed with magnetic melodies, expressive and yet always hitting clear, musical statements. In addition, the analog effects and the synthesizer play special roles in the harmony and sound development. For the concert at LOFT they expand the quartet with a strong voice from the USA. Guitarist Brandon Seabrook has been a firm and established institution on the New York jazz and improvised music scene for years and tours internationally with Gerald Cleaver, Tony Malaby and Eivind Opsvik, among others. He adds another voice to the already electrically amplified quartet and opens up another rhythmic level. We can look forward to an evening full of energy and surprises!
